Sunny Days in Second Grade

Ms. Norton

This week will will be In-View testing on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.  Please make sure your child is here and on time!  We will also be celebrating Dr. Seuss’ birthday next week.  Your child may bring in their favorite Dr. Seuss book and read it during the week.  They will be able to take an AR test on that book at the end of the week.  Well done, everyone! Looking forward to another great week!!

The week of February 22-26 we will be taking the Terra Nova Standardized test, which measures their growth and what they’ve learned in Second Grade.  The test will be administered first thing in the morning, so it is VERY important that your children are here on time!  Also, please make sure that your children get plenty of sleep and a good breakfast each morning.  Thanks so much and happy testing to all! 🙂

I just wanted to thank everyone (students and parents included) for all of your hard work and support this first half of the year!  I’ve seen some wonderful gains and progress from the children, and could not be prouder of them!! Thank you so much for your wonderful donations you’ve sent in thus far, especially for our party on Friday.  I’m sad that we can’t have parents attend, but you’ll be there in spirit! I hope you have a restful, peaceful, and joyful break with your families!! Merry Christmas and God Bless!!! See you in 2021~:)

On Monday, December 7 the children will have an opportunity to shop at the Christmas Corner at 12:45p.m.  So, don’t forget to send in money and the shopping list with your child on Monday if you so choose!  This is a PTO sponsored event.  Also, on Tuesday, Dec. 8 we will not be going to the Parish Center for Mass.  It will be live-streamed to the classrooms as it is an ALL-SCHOOL mass to celebrate the Immaculate Conception.

We made it through the First Quarter!  The students are finding their stride and making good progress.   Let’s keep that momentum going in the Second Quarter!   They have started off strong.  I am proud of how hard they’ve worked and how far they’ve come as a group!! Great job, M-1! 🙂

Thank you all for the generous snack donations that have come in so far!  The children greatly appreciate your kindness.  On Monday as an entire school,  we will say the Rosary together.  This will be done just in the classroom watching a link virtually this year.  The children are welcome bring in their own rosary from home to hold as we say the prayers.  If they don’t have one,  I have plenty.  I will ask the children on Monday if they need one.  I look forward to conferencing with those I haven’t met yet on Thursday and Friday!  See you then!! Have a great week everyone.
