Sunny Days in Second Grade

Hello Parents!  This is just a friendly reminder that the children will have the opportunity to go to the Christmas Corner on Monday, December 6th from 1:30-2:15 to do some Christmas shopping! So don’t forget to send in money with your child. 🙂

Also, this Wednesday, December 8 we will be attending an All-School Mass for the Feast Day of the Immaculate Conception at 10:00a.m.  The students must wear a mask to this mass. Parents can watch on the live-stream.

This week are Unit 2 Testing!! We are reviewing skills through the beginning of the week.  Testing starts on Wednesday, with Unit 2 Informative Writing.  Then on Thursday it is Reading Comprehension Part 1 and Phonics Assessments.  Friday is Reading Comprehension Part 2, Revising and Editing, and Spelling Assessments.  Please make sure your child works through their Unit 2 Packet. Looking forward to a great week!!

We are more than half-way through the First Quarter!  This week are Unit 1 Testing!! We had another great week learning and building our classroom family!  Please remember that Monday, August 23 is individual picture day!! Students must be in their regular school uniforms.  Since it is our PE day, they can wear sneakers with their uniforms just this day.   Have a good rest of the weekend!

I can’t believe we made it to the last week of school!  What a school year it has been!!  Whew!  I just wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone for making this “crazy” year a successful one.  I thoroughly enjoyed teaching each and every one of your children!  I loved getting to know all of them, and seeing them grow and flourish this year!!  I will miss them so much.  Have a Happy, Safe, and Relaxing Summer Break!! Welcome to the Fourth Quarter, we made it!!  Just a reminder that Friday, April 16 is Class Picture day!

I hope everyone had a Happy Easter!  On Monday, April 5th there will be a “Free-Dress” Day for the whole school because we exceeded our Fun Run Goal!  Yay!!  Also on Friday, April 9th,  M-1 will have a PJ Day and bring a “board game” to class to play, instead of outside recess that day! This will be our last Fun Run incentive. 🙂

This week there is no Journeys story or Homework packet.  We will have only two full days and a noon dismissal on Wednesday.  Also on Wednesday, we will have the Fun Run from 9:00-9:45 a.m.  Thank you so much for your participation in the Fun Run!! Because of your generosity, M-1 has earned all of their incentives on our Pledge-O-Meter!! YAY! 🙂

This week we will be Unit 4 testing before the break!  We will be reviewing Monday and Tuesday.  Unit 4 testing starts on Wednesday and goes through Friday.  I hope everyone has a happy, healthy, and safe Spring Break!! 🙂
